Too Many Craft Projects? Welcome to My UFO Pile

In everybody’s life there is going to be a time when accidentally too many crafting projects get started.

And it’s okay. We’ve all been there.

There are only two things to do in this situation:

Kill / Discard the projects you hate.

Grit your teeth and finish the ones that are lagging behind. And do not buy anything else until you are done. – No, not even that little cheap thing that’s so shiny!

Right now my UFO (unfinished objects) pile is getting high:

I still have some embroidery.
Some tatting patterns to finish. (Almost done isn’t actually done.)
A granny square blanket (my “never again” project).
And I just started a new tatting pattern (another reason to write a new blog article).
While I still tinker away with TattingCAD – a new beta build just got released.

My planned projects, in no particular order:

Finishing my craft room (needed to be done yesterday).
A new embroidery—this time a Hungarian Kalocsai pattern that I will design from scratch.
Nalbinding—I accidentally stumbled upon this craft.
Paper quilling—I haven’t actually made anything yet, just practiced shapes.
Repairing a sewing project—a lesson learned about cheap thread.
Making some clothes for my Barbie (named Lady Godiva because she has never had any clothes since I got her).
Of course, more tatting…

One craft fascinates me more than all the others: horsehair braiding (or weaving). It’s such an old craft that finding information about it online is surprisingly difficult.

I’d also like to get back into drawing, maybe even create some coloring pages.

And it’s probably cheating to include it on the list, but I also have a game project that stalled after the AI tools I was using disappeared behind a paywall.

Looking at all of this, it’s hard to say life is boring. There are far more crafts in the world than one lifetime can learn, and honestly, that’s a comforting thought.
